Dhaka Technologies Limited Company in Tampa, FL is seeking a Payroll Specialist for a contract engagement with Hillsborough Transit Authority (HART). The assignment is at least 30 days, onsite in Tampa, with a comprehensive background check and a 5-panel drug screen.

The role requires handling complex payroll transactions, applying labor contracts, and producing reconciliations and reports. ADP or Trapeze experience is highly desirable, along with strong confidentiality and communication skills.

Qualifications

• English speaking/writing/listening required.
• Associates degree in accounting, finance, business administration, HR, or related field.
• 2–4 years in payroll, accounting, HR, or related admin role.
• Experience processing and reviewing complex payroll transactions with high accuracy.
• Experience performing reconciliations, analysis, and problem solving.
• Ability to organize and prioritize to meet payroll deadlines.
• Maintain confidentiality of payroll data.
• Experience in a unionized environment is highly desired.
• Experience using payroll/timekeeping systems (ADP or Trapeze) is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Process complex payroll transactions and ensure accurate, timely payments.
• Resolve payroll adjustments including retroactive pay, garnishments, tax withholdings, and deductions.
• Apply payroll policies and labor contract provisions to ensure compliance.
• Investigate escalated payroll discrepancies and provide root-cause solutions.
• Review payroll data for accuracy before processing and correct discrepancies.
• Reconciling payroll to general ledger and resolving variances.
• Prepare payroll reports and support documentation for management.
• Support audits and year-end payroll activities and reporting.
• Maintain confidentiality of payroll data and respond to payroll inquiries.
• Provide guidance or training to payroll staff as needed.
• Manage garnishment setups/changes in ADP.
• Prepare check requests and payroll deductions backing documents.
• Prepare off-cycle payroll checks.
