Job summary

MasterApp Labs LLC in Tampa, FL is seeking a Payroll Specialist for a onsite contract role. You will process complex payroll transactions, handle adjustments, garnishments, tax withholdings and deductions, and ensure timely payments to employees.

You will apply payroll policies, perform reconciliations, support audits and year-end activities, and maintain strict confidentiality of payroll data. Requires 2–4 years of payroll experience and an associates degree in a related field, with ADP/Trapeze

Qualifications

• English speaking, writing and comprehension required.
• Associate degree in accounting/finance/business/HR or related.
• 2–4 years in payroll, accounting, HR or related admin role.
• Excellent data entry skills.
• Experience processing and reviewing complex payroll transactions with high accuracy.
• Experience performing detailed reconciliations, analysis and problem-solving.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet payroll deadlines.
• Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
• Experience in a unionized environment is highly desired.
• Experience with ADP or Trapeze payroll/timekeeping systems.

Responsibilities

• Process complex payroll transactions and ensure timely employee payments.
• Handle payroll adjustments, retroactive pay, garnishments, tax withholding, and deductions.
• Research and apply payroll policies and applicable laws for compliant payrolls.
• Investigate escalated payroll discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
• Review payroll data for accuracy before processing and make corrections as needed.
• Reconcile payroll to general ledger and resolve variances.
• Prepare payroll reports, records and supporting docs for management.
• Assist internal/external audits with documentation and process improvements.
• Support year-end payroll activities and wage statements for tax reporting.
• Maintain confidentiality and security of payroll and personal data.
• Serve as a point of contact for payroll questions for staff and managers.
• Manage garnishment setups/changes in ADP.
• Review preview checks and make necessary corrections.
• Prepare check requests and backup docs for payroll deductions.
