Job summary

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking an onsite, direct-hire Payroll Accountant to join our Tampa accounting team. This role focuses on timely and accurate payroll processing while supporting payroll accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close in a fast-paced environment.

You will work across departments, process biweekly and special payroll cycles using ADP Workforce Now, and prepare journal entries, audits, and workforce cost reporting for leadership.

Qualifications

• Recent ADP Workforce Now experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years payroll accounting experience.
• Hands-on experience with multi-state payroll and journal entries.
• Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reconciliation.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Process biweekly, supplemental, commission, bonus, and special payroll cycles with ADP.
• Review payroll data for accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare payroll-related journal entries and reconciliations.
• Perform reconciliations for payroll liabilities and tax accounts.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Manage retirement plan contributions and related audits.
• Generate workforce and labor cost reports for leadership.
• Resolve payroll discrepancies and improve processes.
• Provide cross-functional accounting support on special projects.
