Job summary

Nleague Services Inc. is seeking a Payroll Specialist in Tampa, FL to handle advanced payroll tasks and ensure timely, accurate pay in compliance with contracts and regulations. You will support payroll processes, perform reconciliations, and serve as a resource on payroll policies.

Requirements include a Level 1 background check with seven-year criminal history review and a 5-panel drug screen, plus experience with ADP or similar systems. This role is on-site at the Tampa location.

Qualifications

• Ability to speak, write and understand English.
• Associates Degree in a Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
• Two to Four years of work experience in payroll, accounting, human resources, timekeeping or a related administrative role.
• Excellent data entry skills.
• Experience processing and reviewing complex payroll transactions with high degree of accuracy.
• Experience performing detailed reconciliations, analysis, and problem-solving.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet critical payroll deadlines.
• Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information.
• Experience working in a unionized environment.
• Experience using payroll and timekeeping systems, preferably ADP or Trapeze.

Responsibilities

• Process complex payroll transactions and ensure accurate and timely payment of employees.
• Process and resolve complex payroll adjustments and transactions, including retroactive pay, wage corrections, supplemental payments, final pay, garnishments, tax withholding.
• Research, interpret, and apply payroll policies, procedure, collective bargaining provisions, and applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
• Investigate and resolve escalated payroll discrepancies, employee inquiries and complex pay-related issues; identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare payroll-to-general-ledger reconciliations and analyze variances.
• Prepare payroll reports, records, reconciliations, and supporting documentation for management.
