Job summary

State of Maryland is seeking an IT Technical Support Specialist to provide technical assistance and operational support for the Department of Social and Economic Mobility's technology systems and users. This role focuses on supporting workforce development programs, grant administration, and case management to ensure data integrity and system compliance.

The position supports the B2G platform, handles issue resolution, and maintains accurate system data.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience designing, developing, testing, implementing and maintaining applications systems and programs using generally accepted programming languages or maintaining and modifying operating systems.
• Experience providing first- and second-level technical support to staff and stakeholders.
• Ability to perform data analysis and generate ad hoc reports.
• Familiarity with security policies, user accounts, and access controls.

Responsibilities

• Provide first- and second-level technical support for department staff, program users, and stakeholders.
• Support the daily operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the B2G platform and related applications.
• Monitor system performance and escalate technical issues as needed.
• Compile ad hoc reports and assist with data analysis.
• Perform database maintenance and data cleansing to ensure data integrity.
• Conduct quality assurance reviews of data and processes and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain user accounts, permissions, and access controls in accordance with security policies.
• Document issues, resolutions, and procedures within ticketing and knowledge management systems.
