The main purpose of the IT Technical Support Specialist I is to keep the agency's computer systems running efficiently. As an intermediate role, this person maintains and updates the operating systems on multi-tasking computers. They handle standard maintenance independently and collaborate with supervisors on more complex system modifications, occasionally responding to after-hours technical emergencies. To support the mission of the agency, the role entirely around operational readiness. The technical support directly enables the agency to mobilize forces and coordinate disaster relief without critical delays.
Must be a current Maryland Military Department IT employee.
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland with less than 5 points to operate a state vehicle.
Employees in this classification may be subject to call-in 24 hours a day and, therefore, may be required to provide the employing agency with a telephone number where the employee can be reached.
