Job summary

Republic Services in Illinois seeks a Container Welder/Fabricator to repair, weld and paint containers and roll-off boxes. The role requires MIG/ARC welding, fabrication with brake and shear, and plasma cutting. Excellent communication and safety compliance are essential.

Shifts start at 6am with rotating weekends and holidays. Minimum one year welding experience or completion of a welding program is required; compactor repair experience and hydraulic/Electrical knowledge are a plus.

Qualifications

• Certified welder with MIG/ARC welding experience.
• Familiar with plasma cutter and airless paint sprayers.
• Able to use basic hand tools and follow directions with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and maintenance on front, rear and roll-off containers.
• Weld steel and aluminum components using MIG and ARC welding equipment.
• Fabricate steel components using brake and shear; cut steel with plasma torch.
• Install lids and wheels; paint repaired containers; complete required paperwork.
