Job summary

PSECU Pennsylvania State Employees Credit Union in Pennsylvania seeks a Consumer Collector to reduce delinquency in unsecured loans while staying compliant with laws. You will conduct outreach to members and support various collection activities.

This role supports loan maintenance, settlements, and training of new staff; schedule is Monday–Friday 10:00am–6:00pm with every third Saturday.

The Consumer Collector is responsible for conducting collection functions to reduce overall delinquency and prevent losses. Consumer Collectors will work to proactively reduce delinquency in the unsecured loan portfolio in accordance with the Credit Union’s policies and procedures while maintaining compliance with all state and federal collection laws and regulations. This position performs outreach to members with delinquent unsecured loans, and other departmental duties including but not limited to charge-off loan processing, settlement maintenance, loan modification processing, account maintenance, and other unsecured account functions.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 10:00am - 6:00pm. Every third Saturday, 8:00am - 4:00pm with one weekday off that week.

Member Contacts

Handles incoming member contacts (calls, emails, etc.) and makes outbound calls. Processes legal collections work. Remains proficient in various areas of collections.

Delinquency Management

Manages delinquent accounts according to Collection Policy and Procedures. Analyzes and maintains past-due consumer loans to prevent further delinquency. Researches and analyzes accounts using collections software and other sources. Counsels members on reduced and deferred payments.

Legal Compliance and Risk Management

Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations and manage risks within assigned responsibilities.

Vendor Interaction

Ensures satisfactory work production with third-party vendors.

Training and Development

Assist in training new staff.
