Job summary

PSECU is seeking a Consumer Collector in Harrisburg, PA to support the unsecured loan portfolio. You will handle member contacts, perform legal collections work, and manage delinquency in line with policy while ensuring compliance with state and federal laws.

The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent and involves a schedule of Monday–Friday 10:00am–6:00pm, plus every third Saturday 8:00am–4:00pm with a weekday off.

Responsibilities

• Handle member contacts via calls and emails; make outbound calls.
• Process legal collections work.
• Manage delinquent accounts per Collection Policy and Procedures to prevent further delinquency.
• Research and analyze accounts using collections software and other sources.
• Counsel members on reduced and deferred payments.
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations and manage risks within responsibilities.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors to ensure satisfactory work production.
• Assist in training new staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Consumer Collectors will work to proactively reduce delinquency in the unsecured loan portfolio in accordance with the Credit Union's policies and procedures while maintaining compliance with all state and federal collection laws and regulations. This position performs outreach to members with delinquent unsecured loans, and other departmental duties including but not limited to charge-off loan processing, settlement maintenance, loan modification processing, account maintenance, and other unsecured account functions.Schedule: Monday - Friday, 10:00am - 6:00pm. Every third Saturday, 8:00am - 4:00pm, with one weekday off that week.In this position, you will* Member Contacts: Handles incoming member contacts (calls, emails, etc.) and makes outbound calls. Processes legal collections work. Remains proficient in various areas of collections.* Delinquency Management: Manages delinquent accounts according to Collection Policy and Procedures. Analyzes and maintains past-due consumer loans to prevent further delinquency. Researches and analyzes accounts using collections software and other sources.
