Job summary

Brown and Joseph is seeking a Consumer Collections Specialist to contact consumers about past-due accounts, negotiate payment plans, and maintain accurate records while ensuring compliance with FDCPA and company policies.

You will use strong communication and negotiation skills, aim for high customer service, and may leverage bilingual abilities. Prior collections or customer service experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in collections or customer service preferred.
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
• Professional and empathetic in difficult conversations.
• Basic computer skills; ability to learn new systems.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Contact consumers by phone, email, and mail about past-due accounts.
• Negotiate payment plans per company policies.
• Document communications and account updates accurately.
• Comply with FDCPA and other federal/state collection laws.
• Meet performance targets and maintain high customer service.
