Job summary

Travelers in Richardson, TX seeks a Managing Account Executive, Construction to lead a small team of Account Executives and drive profitability for a complex book of business. You will underwrite, negotiate, and market Travelers construction products, building strong broker and agent relationships while guiding strategic sales plans.

The role requires extensive underwriting experience in construction, a CPCU designation, and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree.
• Six to eight years of underwriting experience with construction risk or oil and gas experience.
• Deep knowledge of construction risk or oil and gas products, regulatory environment, and local market.
• Strong critical thinking to identify challenges and make timely decisions.
• Excellent negotiation and communication with agents and brokers.
• Leadership experience is a plus.
• CPCU designation.

Responsibilities

• Manage profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of business with a small team of Account Executives.
• Underwrite and negotiate complex customer accounts to minimize risk and maximize profitability.
• Cultivate relationships with internal partners to create sales plans and cross-selling opportunities.
• Maintain relationships with external partners by meeting agents and brokers to market Travelers products; travel required.
• Identify new business opportunities using consultative marketing and sales skills.
• Develop and execute agency sales plans with the MD to create region/group sales plans.
• Coach, train, and manage performance of the assigned team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
