Job summary

Travelers Insurance is seeking an Account Executive Underwriter in Richardson, TX to manage a book of business, underwrite and negotiate with agents and brokers, and align with the company’s risk appetite.

You will build relationships with internal partners and external agencies, travel to meetings, and develop agency sales plans to drive profitability and growth in the Construction line of business.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 3–5 years underwriting experience.
• Strong knowledge of products, the regulatory environment, and local market conditions.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of business.
• Underwrite and negotiate customer accounts to minimize risk and maximize profitability.
• Execute underwriting strategies across your book of business to meet profit and growth objectives.
• Cultivate relationships with internal partners to identify cross-selling opportunities.
• Meet with agents and brokers in person to market Travelers products and write/retain accounts.
• Identify and capture new business opportunities using consultative marketing and sales skills.
• Develop and execute individual agency sales plans.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
