Job summary

Argo Group is seeking a production underwriter for an on-site role in the Boston area. You will market, underwrite, and process assigned lines of business while working at a designated company office.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of related insurance experience, travel ability, and strong negotiation and analytical skills. A generous bonus plan and comprehensive benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 3+ years of insurance underwriting experience.
• Underwriter with authority, preferably FI lines.
• Proven track record of driving profitable growth.
• Advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Review and price policies based on underwriting guidelines.
• Use tools to determine classifications, rates, and premiums.
• Negotiate terms with brokers and explain company positions.
• Manage assigned portfolio and monitor broker performance.
• Create and interpret reports and dashboards.
• Complete underwriting analyses and maintain files.
• Review state laws within territory for proper transactions.
• Participate in department educational sessions.
