Job summary

ThinkingAhead is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee ground-up commercial and municipal projects in Star, NC. The role requires independent field leadership to run projects from sitework through closeout, manage subcontractors, maintain schedules, and ensure safety and quality.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years in superintendent roles, strong scheduling and communication skills, and a proven ability to read drawings and specs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Superintendent experience.
• Ground-up construction experience required.
• Commercial general contracting experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects from sitework to closeout.
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, deliveries, and field activities.
• Develop and maintain project schedules and critical milestones.
• Conduct subcontractor meetings and coordinate upcoming work.
• Review plans, specifications, RFIs, and project documentation.
• Coordinate inspections and ensure work meets plans and specs.
• Maintain quality control and enforce safety requirements.
• Communicate with Project Managers, owners, architects, engineers, and inspectors.
• Identify field issues early and drive solutions.
• Manage punch lists, inspections, and project closeout.

Construction Superintendent

Location: Star, NC
Compensation: $95,000–$105,000 Base Salary + Company Vehicle + Bonuses + Benefits

An established North Carolina commercial general contractor is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee ground-up commercial and municipal construction projects.

This is a field leadership position for a Superintendent who can independently run a project from sitework through closeout, manage subcontractors, maintain the schedule, and take ownership of day-to-day jobsite operations.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects from sitework and mobilization through final closeout
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, deliveries, and daily field activities
• Develop and maintain project schedules and drive critical milestones
• Conduct subcontractor meetings and coordinate upcoming work
• Review plans, specifications, RFIs, and project documentation
• Coordinate inspections and ensure work meets plans and specifications
• Maintain quality control throughout construction
• Enforce jobsite safety requirements
• Communicate with Project Managers, owners, architects, engineers, and inspectors
• Identify field issues early and drive solutions
• Manage punch lists, inspections, certificates of occupancy, and project closeout
• Deliver projects safely, on schedule, and to the company's quality standards

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Superintendent experience
• Commercial general contracting experience strongly preferred
• Ground-up construction experience required
• Proven ability to independently manage subcontractors and field operations
• Experience taking projects from sitework through closeout
• Strong scheduling, planning, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Municipal, government, education, fire station, or similar commercial project experience is a plus
• OSHA/safety training preferred

Compensation:
