Job summary

Appleton Finn in Charlotte, NC is seeking an experienced Senior Superintendent to lead large-scale commercial projects and own field operations from start to finish. The role requires strong leadership and the ability to coordinate diverse teams across multiple stakeholders on busy job sites.

The Senior Superintendent will work closely with Project Managers, owners, architects, and subcontractors to keep projects on schedule, ensure safety compliance, and uphold quality standards while mentoring

Qualifications

• 8+ years of commercial construction experience with strong superintendent background.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and stakeholders.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Experience with scheduling and project management software.
• OSHA safety certifications preferred.

A leading commercial general contractor with a strong presence throughout North Carolina is seeking an experienced Senior Superintendent to join its growing Charlotte team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proven Superintendent to take ownership of large-scale commercial projects, lead field operations, and work alongside an experienced project management and preconstruction team.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and direction for field operations from project start through completion.
• Manage and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring milestones and deadlines are achieved.
• Coordinate daily site activities and ensure work is progressing safely, efficiently, and according to plans and specifications.
• Work closely with Project Managers, owners, architects, and subcontractors to resolve project issues.
• Conduct regular site meetings and maintain clear communication across all project stakeholders.
• Monitor quality control and ensure work meets company and project standards.
• Enforce company and OSHA safety requirements throughout the project.
• Review drawings, specifications, RFIs, and submittals to identify and resolve potential issues.
• Mentor and develop Assistant Superintendents and other field staff.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and provide regular progress updates to project leadership.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in commercial construction, with significant Superintendent experience.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, scheduling, safety, and quality control.
• Ability to effectively manage subcontractors and coordinate multiple project stakeholders.
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Experience with construction scheduling and project management software.
• OSHA/Safety certifications are preferred.
• Competitive base salary up to $180,000, depending on experience.
