Job summary

Triad-based General Contractor is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to own projects and lead on-site activities with confidence and accountability.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in commercial construction, including $1M–$20M projects, and excels in leadership, planning, and QA/QC while coordinating multiple stakeholders and maintaining safety and schedule integrity.

Qualifications

Job description

Triad-based, full-service commercial General Contractor, is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent who takes ownership of their projects, leads with confidence, and takes pride in delivering high-quality work. The Superintendent serves as primary field representative and is responsible for the day-today management of all construction activities on the jobsite. This position works closely with Project Managers, subcontractors, architects, owners, inspectors, local government officials, and other project stakeholders to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to their quality standards. We are looking for a proactive leader who plans ahead, communicates effectively, solves problems, holdsothers accountable, and takes personal responsibility for the success of each project.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee all day-to-day construction activities on assigned projects.
• Lead pre-construction planning and thoroughly review and understand plans, specifications, contracts, andother project documents.
• Develop, maintain, and communicate project schedules and short-term look-ahead schedules.
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, material deliveries, equipment, inspections, and site activities.
• Maintain a safe and organized jobsite and enforce company and OSHA safety requirements.
• Monitor workmanship and materials to ensure compliance with project specifications and BAR’s quality standards.
• Perform and/or verify construction layout and surveying as required.
• Schedule, coordinate, and manage required inspections.
• Lead or co-chair subcontractor and project coordination meetings.
• Identify potential project issues early and work with the Project Manager to develop effective solutions.
• Monitor field activities for schedule, quality, and cost impacts.
• Maintain accurate and timely project documentation, including daily reports, safety inspections, erosioncontrol reporting, look-ahead schedules, as-built drawings, progress photographs, inspection records, and other required documentation.
• Coordinate punch-list activities, final inspections, and project closeout.
• Maintain professional relationships with owners, architects, subcontractors, inspectors, and other project stakeholders.
• Represent Compamy professionally and consistently strive to exceed client expectations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of commercial construction Superintendent experience, including private and/or public projects.
• Experience managing commercial construction projects generally ranging from $1 million to $20 million.
• Experience with ground-up construction, renovations and additions, office and commercial facilities, educational facilities, healthcare facilities, retail construction, heavy concrete, and adaptive reuse projects preferred.
• Experience with site development and site work.
• Working knowledge of construction layout and basic surveying.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, sequencing, safety, and QA/QC.
• Ability to read, interpret, and execute construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong planning, scheduling, and organizational skills.
• Proficient computer and technology skills.
• OSHA training preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Highly organized, dependable, and efficient.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.

Employment Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Must successfully complete required background screening and drug screening.
• Position requires regular on-site presence at assigned construction projects.

Compensation & Schedule

Job Type: Full-time

Salary Range: $65,000-$120,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications

Schedule: Monday through Friday, with additional hours as necessary to meet project requirements and responsibilities

Work Location: In person / Assigned Construction Jobsites
