Job summary

Suffolk Construction is hiring an Assistant Superintendent to plan and execute the construction program on Providence-area projects, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence. This role involves coordinating field teams, managing documentation, and supporting subcontractor coordination.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's in Engineering or Construction Management (preferred) and 2+ years of relevant experience, with strong communication, organization, and urgency to deliver results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in related construction fields.
• Self-motivated with strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and distribute construction documents to the project team, including plans, specifications, RFIs, bulletins, and field reports.
• Manage layout and verify field dimensions for accuracy.
• Verify subcontractor layout against established line and grade.
• Administer Quality Management Program and document deficiencies to resolution.
• Monitor site progress to ensure compliance with contract documents.
• Document daily construction activity with reports, photos, and sketches.
• Prepare and distribute daily/weekly work plans and logistics.
