Job summary

Suffolk Construction in Austin, TX is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to plan and execute the construction program on site. You will manage safety, quality, and schedule, coordinating with engineers, subcontractors, and the project team to ensure the work meets contract documents.

Responsibilities include maintaining documents, managing layout, QA inspections, daily progress reports, and leading safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in related construction fields.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and distribute construction documents to the project team, including Plans, Specifications, RFI's, Bulletins, and Field Reports.
• Manage layout and verify field dimensions and accuracy of line and grade.
• Verify subcontractor layout compliance with established line and grade.
• Administer the Quality Management Program; document deficiencies and track to resolution.
• Continuously monitor on-site progress to ensure compliance with Contract Documents.
• Document daily construction activity with reports, photos, and sketches.
• Create and distribute daily and weekly work plans, schedules, and logistics.
• Attend meetings with customers/clients and provide status updates.
• Compile permits, testing, and inspections for project completion and acceptance.
• Assist in Safety Program administration, including pre-construction meetings and daily monitoring.
• Supervise and mentor Field Engineers.
• Communicate clear safety expectations to project teams.
