Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Superintendent to oversee daily job-site operations, including scheduling, procurement, and labor management for commercial projects in the United States. You will supervise direct labor, coordinate with Project Managers, and ensure work aligns with timelines and budgets.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction and at least 5 years of experience, with strong knowledge of construction processes, codes, and blueprints.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction related field required.
• Minimum 5 years commercial construction experience.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.
• Knowledge of building codes and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Plan procedures for construction based on specifications, timelines, and staffing.
• Develop and use look-ahead schedules to monitor progress.
• Coordinate pre-construction meetings with the Project Manager.
• Direct procurement of tools and materials to meet schedules.
• Inform and coordinate with supervisors, craft personnel, subs, and clients on progress and issues.
• Resolve labor disputes and coordinate with managers to optimize staffing.
• Inspect ongoing work for compliance with specs and schedules.
• Assist in preparing the Project Management Plan and enforcing safety and quality standards.
