Job summary

Layton Construction seeks a Project Scheduler to develop and maintain software schedules for assigned construction projects. This role monitors progress against the baseline, explains variances, and prepares reports on schedule-related trends to support project decisions.

You will work closely with the preconstruction team and field staff to ensure resources are available, communicate status, and keep schedules current and achievable across multiple markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or equivalent experience.
• Experience managing scheduling for commercial construction projects.
• Five (5+) years of experience or equivalent specialized training and work experience.
• Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6 scheduling software and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain schedules for assigned projects utilizing CPM scheduling techniques.
• Organize and prioritize incoming bid proposals to ensure deadlines are met.
• Review project schedule data including activity records, start/finish dates, costs, WBS, and related data.
• Evaluate work packages and data for feasibility; recommend alternatives to achieve results.
• Interface with customers to communicate work status and corrective actions to ensure conformance to schedules.
• Collaborate with preconstruction team to ensure schedule information is communicated clearly.
• Analyze project requirements and ensure resources are available to maintain schedules; flag constraints.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to obtain status updates on activities and milestones.
• Coordinate projects with all participants to ensure plans are current daily.
