Job summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking a Safety Specialist for the Advanced Facilities Group in the Clarksville area. You will coordinate and implement field safety programs for routine construction projects and conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with laws and company policies.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree in safety or related field (preferred) or equivalent experience, 0-2 years in construction, and strong communication and MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety and health-related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• 0-2 years construction or related experience required.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Knowledge of federal, state, local and company safety regulations.
• Ability to identify hazards and implement corrective measures.
• Ability to build relationships with team members and collaborate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and implements field safety programs for routine construction projects.
• Conducts regular safety walk-throughs to ensure compliance with laws and policies.
• Performs safety audits and documents abatement of hazards for clients and projects.
• Conducts new-hire orientations and monitors drug/alcohol policy compliance.
• Supports field leadership in safety program implementation and project safety committees.
• Investigates accidents, identifies root causes, and recommends process changes.
• Coordinates with injured employees and clinics to ensure timely return to work.
