Job summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking a Safety Specialist for the Advanced Facilities Group to coordinate and implement the field safety program on routine construction projects. You will conduct site inspections and safety audits to identify hazards and recommend abatement measures across projects.

The role requires 0–2 years of construction experience, a Bachelor’s degree in safety or related field (preferred), and solid knowledge of applicable regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety/health (preferred).
• 0–2 years construction or related experience (Required).
• Knowledge of federal, state, local and company safety regulations.
• Ability to perform work accurately and in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and implement the field safety program on routine construction projects.
• Conduct regular walk-through inspections of construction sites to ensure compliance with laws and Company policies.
• Conduct safety audits on assigned projects by identifying, documenting and recommending abatement of hazardous conditions.
• Oversee new hire orientation and ensure drug/alcohol policy compliance.
• Monitors implementation of safety programs by prime contractors and subcontractors.
• Attends project meetings to discuss safety-related matters and supports field leadership.
• Assists in accident investigations and recommends changes to prevent recurrence.
• Coordinates with injured employees to ensure treatment and timely return-to-work.
