Job summary

JE Dunn Construction's Advanced Facilities Group is seeking a Safety Specialist (Core) to support on-site safety across Indianapolis-area projects. You will coordinate and implement field safety programs for routine construction work, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and JE Dunn policies.

The role requires 0–2 years of construction safety experience and a Bachelor's degree in safety/health, or equivalent.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in safety/health preferred or equivalent experience.
0–2 years construction safety experience required.
Knowledge of federal, state and local safety regulations.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and implement the field safety program for routine construction projects.
Conduct walk-through inspections of construction sites to ensure compliance with laws and company policies.
Conduct safety audits and document abatement recommendations to internal and external clients.
Coordinate new hire orientation and oversee drug/alcohol policy compliance.
Monitor prime contractor and subcontractors’ safety programs.
Attend project pre-planning, progress and other meetings to discuss safety matters.
Assist in safety program implementation and chair the project safety committee.
Assist in accident investigations and recommend changes to prevent recurrence.
Coordinate with injured employees and clinics to ensure timely return to work.
Monitor site safety incentive program.
