Job summary

Travelers is seeking an experienced Risk Control professional to support underwriting with in-depth hazard analysis and risk management for large accounts across multiple locations. The role requires field presence, collaboration with underwriting and brokers, and delivering clear risk assessments and recommendations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong EH&S/engineering background, relevant certifications, and at least five years of safety and risk control experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or graduate degree in environmental health and safety, engineering, construction management, basic sciences or related technical fields.
• Certifications such as ASP, CSP, ARM, CFPS.
• Technical aptitude and strong communication skills.
• Five years of experience in safety, risk control/management or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a consistent field presence with customers (20–50% onsite).
• Partner with Underwriting to select, retain, and grow a profitable book of business.
• Build relationships with Underwriting, Claim, Risk Control, and Brokers as a unified team.
• Complete risk assessments for moderate to high complex accounts with significant exposures.
• Write technically detailed reports communicating risk assessments and recommendations.
• Identify customer needs through loss analysis to provide Risk Control products and services.
