Job summary

Travelers seeks a Risk Control Consultant to support our largest, most complex accounts. You will provide account knowledge on hazards, controls and management, working with underwriting to protect and grow a profitable book of business.

You will evaluate risk factors, write detailed reports, and stay current on regulatory issues, delivering expert risk recommendations to clients and internal partners.

Qualifications

• Must have seven years of experience in safety, risk control/management or related field.
• Advanced insurance industry knowledge and business acumen.
• Certifications such as ASP, CSP, ARM, CFPS are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a consistent field presence with 20%–50% onsite travel.
• Collaborate with Underwriting to select and grow a profitable book of business.
• Build relationships with Underwriting, Claim, Risk Control Specialists, and Brokers.
• Perform risk assessments for complex accounts (manufacturing, large warehouses, multi-location, etc.).
• Write detailed risk assessment reports with clear recommendations.
• Identify customer needs through loss analysis to provide Risk Control solutions.
• Stay current with regulatory issues and technical subjects.
• Serve as subject matter expert in specialty areas to support the team.
