Job summary

Travelers is seeking a Risk Control Technical Consultant for Construction Safety in a hybrid role based in Houston, TX. The position focuses on providing account knowledge, evaluating hazards, and managing inherent risk factors for large, complex accounts across multiple lines.

This role requires a strong background in EH&S or engineering, five years of related experience, and relevant certifications. Travel and collaboration with underwriting, claims, and risk-control teams are essential parts

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or graduate degree in EH&S, engineering or related fields.
• Five years of safety/risk control experience.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Certification such as ASP, CSP, ARM, CFPS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain field presence with 20%-50% onsite visits.
• Partner with Underwriting to grow a profitable book.
• Build relationships with Underwriting, Claims, Risk Control and Brokers.
• Perform risk assessments for complex construction, Inland Marine and Energy accounts.
• Write detailed risk assessment reports with clear recommendations.
• Identify exposures and drive corrective actions to mitigate losses.
• Stay current with technical topics and regulatory changes.
• Provide risk-control solutions to help minimize losses.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
