Job summary

Travelers is seeking a Risk Control Consultant to provide account knowledge on hazards, controls, and management and to evaluate how clients identify and manage inherent risk across large, complex accounts.

The role combines field work with customer visits (20%–50% onsite) and close partnership with Underwriting, Claims and Risk Control to grow a profitable book of business while delivering precise risk assessments.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in safety, risk control/management, or related field.
• Valid driver's license.
• Must have or be able to attain appropriate certification to meet state-specific requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a consistent field presence, spending 20%–50% of the time onsite with customers.
• Partner with Underwriting to select, retain, and grow a profitable book of business; coordinate with Underwriting, Claims, Risk Control, and Brokers.
• Complete risk assessments for moderate to high complex accounts, including multi-location companies and larger fleet exposures.
• Write technically detailed risk reports and communicate clear recommendations.
• Identify customer needs via loss analysis and provide Risk Control solutions to mitigate losses.
• Stay current with technical subjects, regulatory environment and emerging issues.
