Job summary

Travelers Insurance seeks a senior Risk Control Consultant to work primarily on-site with clients in the Long Beach, CA area. You will travel as needed to assess hazards, develop controls, and support large, multi-location accounts across lines of business.

You will partner with Underwriting, Claims, and Risk Control teams to deliver risk assessments, recommendations, and loss-prevention strategies. Strong communication and certifications are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Seven years of experience in safety, risk control/management or related fields.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Must attain state-specific certifications where applicable.
• Strong communication skills—written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a field presence with 20–50% onsite travel to customer sites.
• Partner with Underwriting to select, retain, and grow profitable business.
• Build relationships with Underwriting, Claim, Risk Control Specialists, and Brokers to service customers.
• Complete risk assessments for high‑complexity Construction accounts and write detailed risk reports.
• Identify customer needs via loss analysis to provide Risk Control solutions.
• Identify and mitigate exposures and drive corrective actions.
• Stay current with regulatory changes and technical developments.
• Serve as Subject Matter Expert in specialty areas to support the team.
• Handle higher-level project work while maintaining core RCC duties.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
