Job summary

Kokosing is seeking an experienced Safety Director to lead and monitor the Safety and Health Management System across project sites. The role involves supervising safety staff, driving audits and incident investigations, and coordinating training to reduce injuries.

Requirements include OSHA/MSHA/DOT/EPA knowledge, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple locations in a high-production construction environment. This position offers leadership within a nationwide contractor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety and health or equivalent combinations of technical training and experience.
• 10+ years of experience with safety and health in the construction industry preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations.
• Ability to manage one or more project/facility locations, lead, and prioritize tasks to manage safety programs effectively.
• Knowledge and experience to coach, conduct, and document safety audits, inspections, and/or behavioral observations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and monitor the Company Safety and Health Program at assigned location or locations.
• Supervise, mentor, and manage safety staff to ensure SHMS adherence.
• Conduct and coach safety audits, inspections, and safety conversations.
• Investigate injuries and incidents; analyze data and trends.
• Develop mitigation strategies with operations to reduce injuries and incidents.
• Coordinate safety training and meetings with operations teams.
