Job summary

Kokosing, Inc. is seeking a Safety Specialist to provide field support and assist in implementing safety and health policies. You will help reduce injuries, train personnel, plan for hazards, and lead safety meetings at construction sites.

The role requires OSHA/DOT/EPA knowledge, strong communication, and the ability to work a high-volume schedule including nights and weekends. A safety-focused career in heavy civil/industrial construction awaits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Safety and Health or equivalent combinations of technical training and experience.
• Targeting 5+ years of experience with safety and health in the construction industry is preferred, with experience in the aforementioned project types a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing strategies for reducing injuries, illnesses and incidents.
• Provide training and education to Company personnel regarding safety requirements.
• Support pre-job safety planning meetings and develop emergency response plans.
• Initiate, coordinate and lead safety meetings and training programs.
• Perform safety audits, evaluations, inspections and behavioral observations; communicate corrective actions.
