Job summary

Austin Commercial, a leading North Texas construction firm, is seeking a Safety Manager for the North Texas Division to lead site safety programs across projects. You will train staff, investigate incidents, and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety manuals.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years GC safety experience, OSHA 510, and an OSHA 500 trainer designation; BCSP/BSCP certifications preferred. We value clear communication and safety leadership in an ESOP-enabled environment.

Qualifications

• OSHA 510 certification (within five years)
• Authorized OSHA 500 Trainer
• Five years current General Contractor experience OR a Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety and Health OR BCSP Certification (SMS, CHST, ASP, CSP) + three years of GC experience
• OSHA 500 preferred
• BSCP Certification preferred
• Current CPR and First Aid certifications
• SWPP knowledge
• Advanced knowledge of construction processes and procedures
• Proficient in relevant software
• Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities; capable of crucial conversations
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship provided

Responsibilities

• Builds working relationships with project staff and subcontractor safety representatives
• Creates accurate safety reports and accident investigation documents
• Provides and participates in staff safety training and subcontractor development; strong presentation skills
• Represents company in a positive and professional manner with owner and subcontractors
• Creates and facilitates safety training on a variety of subjects that align with project schedules
• Builds and maintains relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, suppliers, architects, etc.)
• Participates in safety organizations outside of the company and in assigned region
• Ensures compliance with the company’s current safety manual, policies and expectations
