Job summary

Turner Construction Company seeks an Environmental Health & Safety professional to lead safety on a single construction project in Fredericksburg, VA. You will enforce EH&S programs, train staff, and educate teams on hazardous materials management and regulatory compliance.

With 4+ years in construction safety, you will develop action plans, lead site-specific safety training, and collaborate with project leadership to improve safety performance and reduce incidents on site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, or related field and minimum of 4 years of related construction safety experience.
• CHST certification required or within 2 years of appointment.
• Completed OSHA 30-hour training and maintain current First Aid/CPR/BBP and AED certifications.
• Knowledgeable of Federal, State, and local Environmental Health & Safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead, direct, and enforce EH&S on a single construction project, per HQ policy.
• Provide safety leadership and manage time/resource allocation for the project.
• Develop action plans to mitigate risks and improve safety awareness.
• Develop training for site-specific needs and educate on EH&S programs and procedures.
• Promote safe work practices and ensure compliance with regulations and owner requirements.
• Collaborate with project leadership to create safety reports and recommend improvements.
