Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety lead for a major Austin construction project. You will partner with EH&S and project teams to enforce safety programs, procedures, and regulatory requirements on site, while leading training on safe work practices for management, employees, subcontractors, and Turner Trade personnel.

You will develop and implement action plans, monitor incident trends, and collaborate with leadership to drive safety improvements

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, or related field, with minimum 4 years of construction safety experience.
CHST certification required or within 2 years of appointment.
OSHA 30-hour training completed; First Aid/CPR/BBP and AED certifications current.

Responsibilities

Lead EH&S on a single construction project and enforce safety policies and procedures.
Manage time/resource allocation and provide safety leadership to the project.
Assess safety practices, exposures, and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.
Communicate safety requirements and lead training for project teams and subcontractors.
Develop and enforce project safety programs, and review subcontractor safety plans for compliance.
Conduct safety audits, prepare reports, and drive improvements to reduce incidents.
