Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking an ESH Coordinator to actively support project teams in implementing environmental, safety, and health standards at site level. You will monitor conditions, enforce OSHA and Layton policies, assist in incident investigations, conduct safety orientations, and coordinate with ESH Manager on workers' comp and reporting.

Qualifications

• BA/BS preferred with at least one year of experience in construction or industrial health and safety programs.
• Completed OSHA 30-hour training for construction AND Safety Trained Supervisor (STS).
• Demonstrates good interpersonal relations and effective communication skills.
• Understands and conveys English commands, questions, and instructions regarding safety issues.

Responsibilities

• Monitors safety conditions and enforces OSHA and Layton Construction standards and policies.
• Assist ESH Manager to investigate accidents and near misses, collecting initial data.
• Monitors workers compensation issues and reports timely information.
• Provide safety related training to employees and sub-contractors at site level as assigned.
• Participate in monthly corporate Safety Committee meetings.
