Job summary

Travelers Insurance is seeking a Risk Control Consultant to provide account knowledge on hazards, controls, and risk management. You will evaluate how clients identify and manage inherent risk factors and differentiate accounts within complex, multi-line portfolios.

The role involves field work with 20%–50% onsite travel, collaboration with underwriting and other teams, and producing detailed risk reports and actionable recommendations to reduce losses.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in safety, risk control/management, or related fields such as occupational/environmental health and safety, science, engineering, construction, manufacturing, or military experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• Must have or be able to attain appropriate state-specific certifications where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a consistent field presence, spending 20%–50% of time onsite with customers.
• Partner with Underwriting to select, retain, and grow a profitable book of business.
• Build and maintain relationships with Underwriting, Claim, Risk Control Specialists, and Brokers.
• Complete risk assessment evaluations for diverse businesses with moderate to high complexity.
• Write technically detailed reports communicating risk assessments and recommendations.
• Analyze losses to provide Risk Control solutions and mitigate losses.
• Identify exposures and motivate customers to take corrective actions.
