Job summary

Food Lion is seeking a Project Manager I for store development projects. You will manage new store, expansion and remodel efforts from pre-construction through construction and warranty phases, coordinating with GC/CMs, suppliers and internal teams to meet timelines and budgets.

This role requires 5-7 years in construction, a Bachelor’s degree, and willingness to travel up to 80% across NC, SC, VA, and beyond. Strong leadership, budgeting and scheduling skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; preferred Construction Management or Engineering background.
• 5-7 years of construction experience in a related field.
• Strong ability to lead projects and coordinate multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage bidding and award processes for general contractors, construction managers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Prepare and manage contract and requisition documents and vendor payments.
• Oversee construction change orders and ensure changes stay within scope and budget.
• Develop detailed project schedules, milestones, and phasing plans; monitor progress against plans.
• Coordinate with Purchasing, Real Estate, A&E, Operations and other stakeholders to align on timelines and costs.
• Lead weekly project meetings and communicate risks, issues and corrective actions to all partners.
• Ensure compliance with plans, specifications, codes, and prototype standards; promote safety on sites.
