Job summary

Ahold Delhaize USA is seeking a Store Development Project Manager I to oversee new store, expansion, and remodel projects from pre-construction through closeout. You will manage bidding, contracts, schedules, and budget while coordinating with internal teams and vendors.

The role requires 80% travel with a remote office day on Fridays and eligibility to work in the United States. This is a full-time position based in the Mount Airy, NC area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in CM/Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5–7 years in construction industry.
• Knowledge of architectural designs/engineering concepts.
• Proven ability to lead projects across contractors and partners.
• Strong problem-solving and planning capabilities.
• Willingness to travel weekly.

Responsibilities

• Manage bidding and awarding with GC/CM and subcontractors.
• Compile bid documents and RFQ packages.
• Prepare contracts, purchase orders, and invoices.
• Manage Change Authorization/Change Order process.
• Oversee bid, contract and requisition approvals.
• Lead redline reviews of ARCH/MEP plans.
• Provide value engineering feedback.
• Develop cost-saving ideas and methods.
• Plan store development schedules and milestones.
• Coordinate with Purchasing, Real Estate, Operations and others.
• Oversee construction to meet prototype standards and timelines.
• Monitor safety and enforce site safety.
• Handle project closeout, warranties, and punch lists.
• Act as primary construction contact.
