Job summary

You will support the project team with document control, reports, and communications, while applying classroom knowledge to real-world activities under supervision. The internship offers exposure to multiple construction specialties and potential academic credit.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a college/university degree program or a Co-op program, preferably in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.
• Must be 18 years of age to work on a construction project site.
• Desire to learn about construction management and the industry.
• Commitment to standard hours and overtime as determined by assignment.
• Demonstrate interpersonal skills including leadership, volunteerism, or community involvement.
• Professional and clear verbal and written communication in English.
• Ability to read and comprehend written information.
• Proactive, curious, and eager to learn and participate.
• Able to work independently with direction and in a team environment.
• Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist with project start-up activities and provide support to Project Engineer, Project Superintendent, and/or Project Manager.
• Assist with collection and review of information and approvals for RFIs, submittals, and contract requirements.
• Attend project site visits to observe and document construction field activities.
• Assist with preparation of communications to Architects, Engineers, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Support with coordination with Trades and subcontractors to track job schedules.
• Assist with monitoring contractor compliance with safety programs.
• Assist with quantity take-offs and studies for project items using traditional or computer-aided tools.
