Job summary

Turner Construction Company in Nashville, TN is seeking a Construction Intern to gain hands-on experience on a live project. You will learn project management basics, safety protocols, and coordination with architects, engineers, and subcontractors.

You will assist the project team with administrative tasks, document control, meetings, and progress reporting while applying university knowledge to real-world construction activities. This is a temporary intern position on-site.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a college or university degree program or co-op, with at least 1 year of education completed.
• Must be at least 18 years old to work on a construction site.
• Desire to learn about construction management and the industry.
• Commitment to standard business hours and overtime as needed.
• Strong written and verbal English communication and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Assist in day-to-day supervised activities to build knowledge in construction management and project coordination.
• Support project team with meeting coordination, material tracking, file management, and progress reporting.
• Follow project site signage and supervisor instructions.
• Provide progress reports to supervisor and learn about construction management.
• Relate academic knowledge to work activities on the project.
• Maintain professional relationships with employees, customers, clients, and subcontractors.
• Participate in training, meetings, and orientation.
• Comply with safety protocols and wear PPE.
• Assist with start-up activities and support to Project Engineer/Manager.
