Job summary

Granite Construction is seeking an entry-level estimator to provide technical engineering and cost information to ensure construction work complies with engineering standards. This role supports project controls, budgeting, scheduling, and bid preparation, contributing to accurate estimates and competitive bids while learning from seasoned professionals in a robust, safety‑conscious environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred, or equivalent combinations of technical training and related experience.
• 0-2 years construction estimating support, engineering, field support, or similar experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and take-off software (AGTEK).
• Ability to perform trig calculations and to communicate effectively with others.

Responsibilities

• Assist with job controls to ensure compliance with contract, budget, schedule, forecasting and job costing.
• Interpret design/drawings for craft workers installing material to ensure specifications are followed.
• Prepare and disseminate documentation records such as status reports, punch lists, and material requirement calculations.
• Provide technical support regarding project material controls to minimize additional costs.
• Develop data including quantity take-offs, material prices, and labor costs for estimates and bids.
• Maintain files of working documents to support accuracy of bid submissions.
