Job summary

Aston Carter in Saint Paul, MN seeks an Accountant for a contract assignment to manage accounts receivable using OSAS, process cash receipts, and support project billing and cost control.

You will reconcile bank accounts, review payroll and accounts payable, prepare sales/use tax reports, and provide financial insights to operations and leadership to improve profitability. This onsite role offers competitive hourly pay and benefits eligibility based on position and tenure.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or accounts receivable experience.
• Construction industry experience preferred.
• Hands-on project accounting, job costing, retainage, and construction billing.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounts receivable processes using OSAS, including preparing, reviewing, and submitting construction pay applications.
• Process daily cash receipts, record transactions, and maintain accurate accounting records.
• Lead collections efforts by following up on outstanding invoices, managing project retainage, and ensuring prompt resolution of payment issues.
• Administer project contracts and maintain project documentation to support billing, compliance, and audit requirements.
• Prepare and file monthly Sales and Use Tax reports, ensuring accuracy and regulatory adherence.
• Monitor daily banking activity, reconcile bank accounts, and review transactions.
• Review payroll and accounts payable processing for accuracy and compliance with policies.
• Analyze purchasing activity and compare expenditures against project budgets to identify variances.
