Job summary

Zurich North America is seeking an experienced Underwriting Specialist or Executive Underwriter for Construction Professional Liability within the Specialties Construction team. The role offers a hybrid schedule and can be based at any Zurich office in the South or Western regions.

The position will be filled at either Underwriting Specialist or Executive Underwriter level, determined by the candidate’s experience and qualifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required with 3+ years in underwriting or market-facing area, or 6+ years in claims or underwriting support.
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 1+ year in underwriting or market-facing area, or 4+ years in claims/underwriting support.
• Knowledge of lines of business and regulatory guidelines; knowledge of quotes timelines; proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Administer underwriting rules, guidelines, and rating annual rules.
• Develop and maintain relationships with distributors and brokers to support retention and growth.
• Guide lower level associates as needed.
• Build broker/customer relationships to determine insurance needs and provide solutions.
• Support sales culture by serving as a help point for agents, brokers, and customers.
• Proactively seek renewal and new account opportunities.
• Complete detailed opportunity assessment with key distributors to identify growth opportunities.
• Qualify accounts to meet appetite and opportunities.
