Job summary

Zurich North America is seeking an experienced Underwriting Specialist or Executive Underwriter, Construction Professional Liability, to join our Specialties Construction team. This role offers a hybrid schedule and can be based at any Zurich office location within our South or Western regions.

The position handles complex Construction Professional Liability accounts and serves as a Subject Matter Expert while building relationships with Select Brokers focused in the US.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 3+ years in Underwriting or Market Facing area OR
• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6+ years in Claims or Underwriting Support OR
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree with 1+ years in Underwriting or Market Facing area OR
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree with 4+ years in Claims or Underwriting Support AND
• Knowledge of lines of business and regulatory guidelines
• Knowledge of time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business
• Experience with Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

• Administer underwriting rules and guidelines, insurance laws and regulations, and rating annual rules.
• Develop and collaborate with Line of Business on referrals and needs.
• Provide guidance to lower level associates.
• Develop and maintain relationships with distributors (agents & brokers) to support retention and acquisition.
• Support sales culture by assisting agents, brokers and customers.
• Proactively seek renewal and new account opportunities.
• Complete opportunity assessments with distributors to identify growth opportunities.
• Qualify accounts to meet appetite and opportunity.
• Make broker/customer and on-site calls with preparation.
