Job summary

Zurich is seeking an experienced Underwriting Specialist or Executive Underwriter – Construction Professional Liability to join the Specialties Construction team. This hybrid role can be based out of any Zurich office in the South or Western regions of the US.

You will handle complex Construction Professional Liability accounts, serve as a subject matter expert, and work with distributors to drive retention and growth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent with 3+ years underwriting or market-facing experience.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent with 6+ years in the Claims or Underwriting Support area.
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 1+ years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area.
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 4+ years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area.
• Knowledge of line of business and the regulatory guidelines.
• Knowledge of time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Administer and monitor underwriting rules, guidelines, and rating annual rules.
• Develop and collaborate with Line of Business on referrals and business needs.
• May provide guidance to lower level associates.
• Build relationships with distributors (agents & brokers) to retain and acquire business.
• Support the sales culture by assisting agents, brokers, and customers.
• Seek renewal and new account opportunities proactively.
• Complete detailed opportunity assessments with key distributors.
• Qualify accounts to meet appetite and opportunity balance.
• Make broker/customer on-site calls with prepared purpose.
