Job summary

S&ME is seeking a Construction Materials Engineering Technician to support the KY Locke project in Paducah, KY. This role involves field and lab testing of construction materials, sample prep, data reporting, and close collaboration with engineers and project managers on outdoor job sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in a related field preferred for advanced levels.
• Active Industry certifications such as: ACI Field Testing Grade I; Strength Testing Technician; Laboratory Technician and ICC: Special Inspector, Reinforced Concrete and Masonry.
• Strong English communication skills (verbal and written).
• Basic math proficiency, including measurements and units of weight.
• Understanding of fluctuating schedules and occasional travel.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license or IDP valid for driving in the United States, with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to safely operate a company vehicle on job sites.
• Willingness to complete background, driving record, and drug screen on offer.

Responsibilities

• Field & Lab Testing: perform field and laboratory testing on concrete, asphalt, soil, and aggregates.
• Sample Collection & Prep: collect and prepare samples for analysis.
• Data Interpretation & Reporting: interpret test results and prepare detailed reports.
• Team Collaboration & Compliance: work with engineers, contractors, and project managers to ensure safety and specs.
