Job summary

Travelers in Chicago is seeking an Account Executive Officer, Construction Loss Sensitive, to partner with agents and brokers and underwrite complex risk for large construction projects.

You will manage profitability and growth of an assigned book, negotiate with clients, and travel to meetings to market Travelers products. A bachelor’s degree and CPCU designation with 6–8 years of underwriting experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Six to eight years of underwriting experience with construction loss sensitive.
• Deep knowledge of construction loss sensitive products and regulatory environment.
• Strong critical thinking to identify underwriter, marketing or financial challenges and make timely decisions.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills with agents and brokers.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite casualty programs for large construction projects including Wrap Ups, Joint Ventures and Project Specific placements.
• Manage profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of business.
• Underwrite and negotiate complex customer accounts to minimize risk and maximize profitability.
• Cultivate relationships with internal partners to create sales plans and cross-selling opportunities.
• Meet with agents and brokers in person to market Travelers products and write/retain accounts.
• Travel to meetings as required.
• Develop agency sales plans and partner with MD to develop region/group sales plans.
• Assist in training and mentoring less experienced Account Executives.
