Job summary

Actalent is seeking an HSE Manager to lead health, safety, and environmental efforts on major construction projects in Sarasota, FL. The role drives a strong safety culture, ensures regulatory and corporate compliance, and partners closely with project leadership to proactively manage risk.

Required CHST certification, a Bachelor’s degree in Safety or related field, and 5+ years of construction EHS experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent field.
• CHST (Construction Health & Safety Technician) certification.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction EHS field.
• Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal EHS regulations and standards.
• Proven ability to recognize hazards, assess risks, and implement controls.
• Experience conducting EHS audits, inspections, and incident investigations in construction.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Project Manager to develop and maintain site-specific EHS plans.
• Coordinate EHS programs with subcontractors and vendors.
• Lead on-site EHS audits and corrective actions.
• Conduct inspections to verify regulatory compliance and company policies.
• Investigate accidents, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
• Advise on Industrial Hygiene protocols and environmental monitoring.
• Manage Drug-Free Workplace policies and testing.
• Provide training and new-hire EHS orientations.
• Prepare weekly EHS updates for leadership and stakeholders.
• Promote safety culture and engage field personnel.
• Support safety efforts with supervisors and craft workers.
