Job summary

SMS group USA is seeking an HSE Manager to lead health, safety, and environmental programs across construction projects. You will develop, implement, and oversee site-specific safety plans, risk assessments, and compliance with OSHA and client requirements, partnering with project teams to drive continuous safety improvements.

The role requires a strong technical background in construction operations, regulatory knowledge, and contractor oversight, with a proven track record in leading safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in safety, engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of progressive HSE experience in construction.
• Minimum 5 years of leadership experience managing HSE programs.
• Experience supporting large-scale construction projects and contractor workforces.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and risk assessment methods.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of HSE management systems.
• Develop site safety plans, JHAs, and safe work procedures.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, federal, state, local, and client requirements.
• Conduct incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Manage contractor prequalification, onboarding and audits.
• Deliver HSE training and mentor safety professionals.
• Prepare HSE performance reports for leadership.
• Support environmental programs and regulatory inspections.
