Job summary

STO Building Group is seeking an experienced ESH professional to implement corporate and project-site safety policies across multiple units. You will drive safety culture, manage programs, and ensure regulatory compliance with OSHA, MSHA, DOT, and EPA standards.

You will lead and coach teams, review incidents and audits, and collaborate with leadership and subcontractors to continuously improve safety performance. This role requires strong communication and a proactive safety mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Safety & Health or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of ESH experience required.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, DOT, EPA regulations.
• Accreditations preferred: CHST, ASP, CSP, ICRA.
• Previous CCIP experience preferred.
• Basic Spanish language communication preferred.
• Industrial hygiene knowledge and best practices.
• Skilled communicator—verbal and written presentations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Teams).
• Strong problem-solving, organization, attention to detail, and process improvement.
• Strong interpersonal skills; proven ability to work with diverse teams and develop team members through coaching and delegation.

Responsibilities

• Uphold safety by ensuring honesty, unity, safety, and quality of work.
• Establish and reinforce safety culture across project sites.
• Manage safety programs on all assigned projects.
• Provide regulatory and policy review, interpretation, and guidance.
• Recommend improvements and conduct technical reviews of ESH tools and training.
• Review audits and injury statistics to identify risks and propose safety programs.
• Share data to develop corporate safety trends.
• Monitor new legislation affecting safety policies and updates.
• Oversee workers' compensation issues on projects.
• Conduct incident review meetings to reinforce accident prevention.
• Oversee monthly audit program for compliance and effectiveness.
• Implement training to support Safety 360 and OSHA/MSHA compliance.
• Participate in pre-construction meetings for safety needs.
• Ensure accurate accident reporting and preventive measures.
• Support injury management and cost control.
• Develop and oversee project-specific safety programs.
• Supervise safe behavior of all workers on projects.
• Interface with leadership, site supervision, subcontractor management, and agencies.
