Granite Construction in Chicago is seeking an experienced estimator/support role to help manage controls, read designs, and coordinate with on-site teams to meet schedule and quality standards.

The role requires a civil engineering or related degree, 2+ years of construction estimating or field support experience, and proficiency with MS Office and Bluebeam Take-off. Strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred, or equivalent combinations of technical training and related experience.
• 2+ year’s construction estimating support, engineering, field support, or similar experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Bluebeam Take-off software.

Responsabilités

• Assist with job controls to ensure compliance with contract, budget, schedule, forecasting and job costing.
• Interpret design/drawings for craft workers installing material to ensure specifications are followed.
• Interface with on-site departments to resolve problems and support project schedule.
• Research and resolve drawing interpretation problems to ensure compliance with codes and specifications.
• Prepare and disseminate documentation records such as status reports, punch lists, and material calculations.
• Provide technical support regarding project material controls to minimize costs.
• Prepare drawings and sketches to support construction work, change orders, and estimates.
• Provide building control lines and elevations for accurate measurement and installation.
